Afterwards, in the 1960s, the station became part of the group of companies controlled by Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta, founder of Telesistema Mexicano which will grow in the media giant Televisa. Finally, in 1983, XEB joined the Mexcian Radio Institute.
Affiliated Interests Ceo
Carlos Lara Sumano - Is the General Director of the Mexican Radio Institute since 2013, appointed by the Secretary of Public Education at that time, Emilio Chuayffet Chemor. Lara Sumano was already once the manager of the Institute in the period of 1995-2002, during the time when presidents of Mexico were Ernesto Zedillo, from the Institutional Revolutionary Party PRI, and Vicente Fox, from the National Action Party PAN. Lara Sumano was the internal comptroller of the Secretary of Communications and Transport, General Director of Telecomunicaciones de México (TELECOMM), among other positions. He was the firs president of the Association of National Radio Broadcasters of Latin America (2000-2002), where he is currently honorary chairman.
Lara Sumano was involved in the Tecnoradio scandal, where a supposedly new company participated on a public tender and won 37 frequencies in 2017, but it turned out that the company is related with the same radio broadcasters as always: Radiorama and NRM Comunicaciones. According to an investigation of the daily newspaper El Universal, the director of the Mexican Radio Institute had 249 out of the 600 shares of Tecnoradio. However, the Federal Institute for Telecommunications denied this information: Lara Sumano effectively participated as the treasurer in the creation of Tecnoradio in 2011, but he resigned from this position and his shares before the conflicting public tender took place.
